Roland SH-1 (1978)
Monophonic analogue synthesizer with a 2,5-octave keyboard. One VCO with noise source and sub oscillator, two envelope generators, LFO, low-pass and high-pass filters. SH-1 was one of the first portable but powerful synths from the classic SH series.
Synthesis
- VCO (range: 32'/16'/8'/4'/2') switchable between: saw, square, pulse (PW: manual, envelope, LFO); white/pink noise source; sub-oscillator: switchable between square -1 oct., square -2 oct., pulse -2 oct.
- Two envelope generators, ADSR (1) and AR (2): both can be triggered from keyboard and LFO, envelope 2 can be triggered via dedicated input
- Resonant low-pass VCF which can be controlled by envelope 1 (selectable polarity), LFO, keyboard and external signal envelope follower
- Non-resonant high-pass filter
- Mixer: VCO, noise, sub-oscillator, external input
- LFO: sine (with delay control), square, random (S&H); can modulate VCO pitch, VCO PW, VCF cutoff and VCA
Controls
- 2,5-octave keyboard (32 keys)
- Pitch bender and mod lever (for VCO/VCF LFO depth)
- Portamento with time contrtol
- Auto-bend with depth and time contrtols
Connections
- External input for processing audio with VCF/VCA
- CV/gate input and output
- Envelope 2 trigger input
