Roland CR-78

CR-78 is the world's first programmable rhythm machine. It had a variety of drum/percussion sounds: kick, snare, rim shot, open/closed hats, maracas, toms, congas, bongos, metal, cowbell, tambourine and others, which were much more rich compared to the earlier Rhythm Ace and TR series. It had preset rhythms, and custom patterns could be programmed with an optional supplemental unit. Many of it's sounds resemble the TR-808 which was released about a year later.
