Roland Clan, the world's biggest community of Roland gear users, is happy to celebrate it's 5th anniversary. With almost 10,000 members from 120 countries, the Roland Clan forums is one the most friendly music technology communities on the web, welcoming people speaking German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian as well as other languages in addition to English. Our site also includes a big collection of patches, samples and tutorials for a wide variety of Roland, Boss and Edirol gear that are freely available to anyone even without registering.

Our plan for 2008

For this year, we plan many exciting new things, some of which are already in the works. All of this, as always, will be freely available to everyone.

• Moving to another, much bigger and faster hosting server
• All-new site graphics design
• Revised forum software optimized for viewing on mobile devices
• New tutorial articles
• New freely-available sound materials
• Fantom-X to SonicCell patch converter
• Fantom-X to Fantom-G patch converter
• Personal web space for each member - 50 MB at least (for web site, photos and music)

To make these things come true, we need to gather $1000 for our 2008 fund.

The 2008 fund raising campaign

To celebrate it's 5th anniversary, Roland Clan offers everyone a vast sound library of over 80 MB of sounds made with Roland's latest and most powerful synthesizers. The sound library is available for purchase until 15th May for just $5. But in addition to this, one of the buyers of this sound library will receive a prize worth over $500! With each $5 you donate, you receive one ticket, so the more you donate, the more chances you have to win the prize. The winner will be announced on 16th May.

Planet V is a sound expansion library for Roland Fantom-S and Fantom-X series which is entirely based on an enormously large sample collection created using Roland’s revolutionary V-Synth and V-Synth GT synthesizers. It will answer the question “can the Fantom sound really different?” with a definite “yes”, and will blow away your expectations of what a sound library can be. In total, Planet V includes 942 samples (110 MB), 64 multisamples, 140 patches and 14 rhythm kits.

V-Synth Tweakbook third edition is now available. It is a groundbreaking sound design book for Roland V-Synth, V-Synth XT and V-Synth GT synthesizers, a great knowledge resource for those who want to take their sound design skills to a new level and learn how to use the sound building elements both alone and in various simple or complex combinations. All in all, the new Tweakbook gives you 28 illustrated articles, 111 patches and 57 audio demos.
